The first was a delivery from Joann.com. It was really funny! I had placed an order with Joann.com for the KI Memories kit on sale. THey emailed me yesterday morning to say that they had run out of the colors I chose and gave me a discount voucher. So I went on and ordered the kit in a slightly less desireable color, but used the 15% discount which was great! Then this package arrived from them... I flipped, I had just ordered a replacement kit and now the original had arrived! I had spent more money than I intended. SO I ripped the box open with one hand, phone at the ready in the other and I realized that the stuff inside the box was not what I had ordered... (but VERY cute!)... I checked the packing slip and my name and billing address are listed on there too so I called customer service and was ready to yell when they inform me that this was a gift from Loo-Anna dooo Twah, (I STILL laugh at the way they pronounce your name here Lu!). So it was a prezzie from ym friend in the UK for Christmas!! SHe had warned me not to open anything that came from Amazon, but this came from Joann.com, so I opened it... THANK YOU LU!!!! (I can't post pics, my camera batteries are flat it still runs on AA batteries and it is costing us a fortune to run, so I am taking a breather for this week and will get more next week and post pics.)
[EDIT: Pic added with last legs battery life found this morning 12/15/06. Pic also includes "Wildcard, the travel loving, biscuit eating Christmas Card from Lu]

Then, Pam's Circle Journal arrived. It is LOVELY... the theme on this one is "Postcards From Home" which is sooo interesting. I wish that I had been nearer the end of the list for this one as I would love to see where everyone lives... Hopefully everyone will post their entry. BUt, in the parcel Melrose also put some of what she calls "Scrap Hand me downs" and a lovely card! She is so thoughtful! I selected a couple of items from the pack and replaced them with some other items that I own but have no use for... (I like bright loud colors and am trying to keep the very soft colors to a minimum, but I am sure that someone else in this circle enjoys softer colors and would be able to put them to good use.) I also added a couple of stickers, tags and fibres to replace what I had removed, but I think I may have overdone it a bit! I had to squuueeeezzeee it back in the box... ANyway, I think it is a great idea to add that to the journal!!)
Had a fantastic afternoon... made something SOOOO cute, but I can't post it here because the person it is for might see it... and there is the battery issue again.
A couple of weeks ago I spoke with a life coach who was looking for a VA. We chatted, she grilled me about my educational background, (I didnt go to college due to finances), and when I told her that I had no degree but that I had 11 years of hands on administrative experience she even sounded like she had lost interest... that's ok I thought... I wouldn't want to work with her anyway if she puts that much value on a piece of paper but has no respect for hands on experience.... yesterday afternoon I got an email entitled "HELP!" from her. She had hired someone else after speaking to me... and quickly discovered that a degree doesn't always mean qualified! ANother client of mine is a friend of hers and so she told me that she had said to her "You should have just gone with Ros in the first place"... That makes me proud! Especially after the rotten week I have had with clients...
Today's Vid is by a band called Mafikizolo and the song is called Ndihambanawe. It's a Xhosa wedding song which loosely translated means "I will walk with you". Obviously they have changed the song a bit and put it to a beat, but it's origin is a wedding song. It is Wilna and Jaco's 15 year wedding anniversary today so this is for them! Congratulations!
