Yesterday when everyone was out taking shots of brilliantly flowering plants and bushes... I was inside trying to avoid as much of the big melt as possible... A peek outside today revealed that Spring is indeed on it's way to Buffalo...
This is all that is left of the bank of snow outside our front door... it melted back very quickly yesterday to reveal mud and litter dropped over the last 2 months. It's a strange mix of ugly/beautiful, I am still undecided.Yesterday afternoon my husband came home from work bearing a gift for me... well two actually... pegs and an iron!!! Now I expect that most women would be insulted at this gift... not me... you see I don't intend to iron his clothes or mine for that matter. The iron is for craft purposes only you understand... finally I can straighten fabric out before setting at it with the sewing machine (which already feels like it's on it's last legs). He went into the store hoping to find a sewing machine upgrade at a decent price but they didn't have any so he left with the iron knowing that I've been wanting one for a while. So cute!!! Don't you love it when you tell them stuff and you don't think that they ever heard you and then Wham! they do something like this that blows you away? Remember Christmas and how I wanted ornaments so badly? I am so happy I married this man!!
Here are some of last nights creations....
Another tissue holder... yes... you saw that correctly... it has a leopard interior... know this one thing about me... i ADORE kitsch... adore it!
My first ring... I am attempting to do this:
Which I didn't want to post on my blog as I was sure that everyone would like it and then want to do it and then the price of wooden embroidery hoops would go through the roof... too late... may other people saw it and posted it in their blogs causing many more people to love it and rush out and buy up all the embroidery hoops in the Continental United States leaving poor little me to buy things called "Grandmas Sewing Stuff" from eBay because there was one teeny tiny little hoop in the batch and so I am now sitting with a ton of cross stitches (complete) and books of cross stitch patterns... (kitsch and NOT the good kind) that I don't want or need...Anyway, on to happier things... like this... I thought it was finished but the more I look at it this morning the more cool ideas come into my head... so let's call it today's WIP...
