Just call me Patch...

So as you may already know I moved over here with precious little thanks to the 20kg airline baggage allowance and the fact that half of my stuff was stuck in Holland. This of course means that I moved into 'bachelor hole from hell' and there was very little I could do to spruce things up beyond clean, clean, clean, clean and assign everything a 'home'.

You may not know that P suffers from bouts of insomnia, which in his case means that he cannot sleep when it is time to, but he nods off at random, often while doing things like watching T.V. and... you know... safe stuff like SMOKING! This poor duvet -- (comforter to anyone from the States) -- is one of the casualties of P's insomnia.


The trouble is that this is the perfect spring/summer crossover comforter. It's warm when it needs to be and cool when it needs to be, (plus it comes from a pretty larney store and is very cool!) So yesterday I got a bee in my bonnet and decided to patch it. I figured that any patch would stick out like a sore thumb so I might as well go with something that looks like you are supposed to notice it. You saw the beginnings of it yesterday afternoon. Here is the finished product, being admired by Jack who thinks that I brought it into the living room just for him to nap on it and not because the living room is the only room in the house with enough natural light (barely) to photograph it.


Now, I could beg you not to look at the messy bookshelves behind him overflowing with craft supplies, but I know you are going to look anyway... so all I am going to say is don't judge me by it!! There are plans afoot for a fetching curtain to cover that all up, or we may just dump the shelves when we move.
