Today I marched down there with Peter determined to pick up two lamps for my new office area but I discovered that one of the pair I liked was sold, and the other lacked the proper light bulb holder thingy... (that's it's technical name). Bummer... But there were (as always) many brassy lamps to choose from. One I ADORE but was $14 which was way more than I wanted to spend... then there was this one... decent shape, all it's bit's where they were supposed to be, and just $7... SEVEN DOLLARS! For a lamp at a thrift store? (Seriously... what on earth is going on... lately throft stores prices are getting a bit out of control.)
Well, as I said... I've had a bee in my bonnet about this lamp, so I HAD to just go with it... and marched up to the counter with my lamp choice, trying to drown out the voice in my head reminding me that just a month ago I purchased a brand new lamp in the clearance section of Target for just $9... and here I was buying a lamp older than I am for just $2 less... anyway...
I really wanted a brighter shade of blue paint... something more "aqua" in color, but this was the closest thing our Home Depot had so again, I went with it... see previous comment about bees and bonnets... I kind of like this Periwinkle shade though...
What say you?
P.S. Our store also had an Ikea Lack TV table in reasonably good condition for... wait for it... $79.99!! It's not even that much to buy it brand new. WTH!?!
P.P.S. If it's awful and you think I've lost my mind please be kind with your comments... I'm not feeling too hot today. :( Peter spreading his school borne sicknesses at home again... LOL

LOVE it!!! It's amazing how much more the curves and angles stand out now, making it much sexier. The colour is stunning. I had my kitchen in that exact colour for a while.
LOVE! Can't wait to see how it looks with its shade...
