Woohooo!! Great news today as our British Police Clearance request form has been put in the mail... first class top speed... and will be delivered tomorrow morning!! SO we can finally start the clock ticking on our 40 days processing time. We have since been told that they usually process these requests within 2-3 weeks!! So hold thumbs for us!!
bad news is that when the South African Home Affairs Dept printed the second copy of our Unabridged Marriage Certificate last week, they printed Peters place of birth as United Kingdom instead of United States. SO i went in there today to get a new one printed... and guess what... the ONE lady who works in the office covering the entire Southern Johannesburg area and is able to print these things, was on leave today!!!! But I have been assured (after one little white lie), that she WILL be in the office tomorrow and that she will do it for me first thing. (I told them that my visa interview is tomorrow at 10am!).
Peter promises me that he will be completing our Affidavit of Support documents tomorrow and sending them to me via courier to have them with me by Friday... So by next week I should be in good shape and only waiting for the Clearance from the UK...
Waiting waiting waiting... its all we seem to do!!
