Buttons!

Reading "Bend-the-Rules Sewing" last night I was inspired to get my butt upstairs and into my craft room/office and get to work on tidying and organizing and unpacking those last few niggly bits. I moved some things around to maximize the space and now have a room that I am not 100% happy with, but one that I can live with, that functions better.

I also cleaned my sewing machine and packed all my threads away in my stool again, (only this time they won't fit... not sure why)... Today I went to the Singer website to see if I can get hold of a manual... to do that I need to know the model number... the model number -- if it existed -- was nowhere to be seen so I spoke with a kindly lady on the phone who instructed me to grab a magnifying glass and examine the "Singer Seal" closely. Aha! tiny numbers and letter 328K to which aforementioned lady proclaims "Aha! A Style-O-Matic!" *insert my muffled giggles here*

Anyway, we got to chatting and I remembered this odd thing that no one has been able to identify for me. She looked up the serial number and tells me that it's a buttonholer for the very famous Singer Featherweight series of machines, but it is compatible with the 328K and apparently attaches to it with ease. She was not able to instruct me over the phone but suggested that I send them a money order for $5 and they will mail me a copy of the manual.

After some digging online I managed to find not only the parts guide, but the manual as well for the 328K and just now also found instructions for the buttonholer! Yay!! I see many many buttons in my future!
