Well would you look at that! Yellow leaves... the first we've seen so far. Autumn is slow to come in Austin. We watched a Bills game over the weekend and were surprised to see the spectators all bundled up in jackets. How quickly we forget, huh? Last year at this time we were slowly adjusting to the cold when we were hit by massive snow storms in October, just a few weeks from now.
Today is much cooler even out here in Texas. 22 degrees outside right now. We are thoroughly enjoying a break from the killer heat we've had the last few weeks. Hopefully next summer my blood will have thinned out to African standards again and it won't hit me so hard. Until then I will stay indoors under the lovely aircon.
I am sitting here right now waiting for the soft rap at the door that will let me know that either our new console table and shelves, or maybe my book order from Barnes and Noble, or quite possibly our new fax machine have arrived! Don't be shocked... we've not won the Lotto or anything! We have been carefully putting away any gift certificates we received over the last year knowing that they would come in handy in our new home. Some of them are expiring soon and needed to be spent, others... well they just needed to be spent. The fax machine/scanner/printer/copier is a gift from my mother who is tired of hearing me whine about having to fax something for a client. We got a great deal at Target!
The office area is coming together now... not quite picture ready yet, but getting there slowly! Once these shelves arrive today and we manage to borrow a drill from someone I will be much happier as I will have a place to display our art and prints. Once I get those things up I will take pictures to share here.
I should be off now, but I will probably be back later with pictures of my bounty... if my bounty arrives today... "3 Day Expedited Delivery" is apparently code for "10 Day Wait"...
