I realized that I didn't post a pic of our recent acquisition compliments of Hobby Lobby's post holiday Wall Decor Sale. Many of you may know already that we have this little obsession with religious objet d'art including statuary, painted works and items such as crosses etc. We picked these little beauties up for next to nothing and while they are of absolutely no historic nor cultural value and quite cheaply made, we love them. I chose the smaller one (I think it's because the metal cross reminds me of corrugated roofing, and so indirectly South Africa), while Peter loved the bigger one. Right now they too are "leaning art" as we don't want to knock any more holes into the walls of our rented home. We have a great landlord, but we don't want to take advantage of that and leave him with Swiss cheese walls and neither of us want to have to re-spackle before we move.
