Hey. Sorry to keep you hanging!! It's my last couple of days of work before the break and I have been crazy busy as usual. Well, it looks like we are on our way. The seller accepted the offer after much squabbling back and forth and we finally agreed on a price on Tuesday morning. The title is now with the title company, and we are at the point where we seem to be writing out checks to every person we greet. Tomorrow is the important one though... the home inspection.
Our inspector is a local guy and we have full confidence in him. Once he signs off on it, and we have our insurance in place we are good to go and then it's countdown to closing which we expect to be around January 15th. (Our mortgage broker has warned us that this may take a little longer because we are such a complex case).
Anyway... we are trying not to think about it because so much can still go wrong at this point. For example the inspector could tell us to run from it as fast as we can. The lender might call us back and say, "PSYCH!! We really had ya goin' there didn't we? hahahaha". So you see, we aren't exactly packing yet. Besides, it's Christmas.
So, after the holidays we will reconvene with the mortgage guy and the inspector guy and the insurance guy and our agent and every other person we have written a check for in the last week and hopefully we will get the "Git ta packin'" go-ahead from them all.
In the meanwhile we are dreaming of this quiet little spot and not even Christmas has been able to distract us... *sigh!*
