It all started at 5am this morning: P woke me up at 5am to tell me that he had gone out to the car on his way to leave for work and he caught some guy SITTING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT with his head down about to start hotwiring the car!!!! Peter ran out there all fired up and yelling at the guy who's response was, "I needed a light" and then jumped out and ran, P tried to chase after him but the guy got away. So he came in and woke me up to tell me about it and to tell me to be careful in case he gets wise and comes back. Then he goes off to work and I go back to sleep. About 30 minutes later I get a call from him. He decided to drive around the neighborhood looking for this guy and HE FINDS HIM. So what does my husband do??? He chases after him in the car and tries to knock him over!!!! The guy ran into a parking lot and P went charging after him in the bubble car, nearly taking a pole to the bumper in the process. P was spooked after nearly damaging the car, so he didn't chase anymore. He is SOOO mad!! I guess that will teach us to live across the road from a crackhouse and keep a bunch of quarters in the dashboard for parking meters. P says that the guy had taken all the change he had in the car and had also messed with his cds which he keeps under his seat. When he got to work he realized that they were all on the passenger seat next to him, so the guy must have planned on taking those too. HOW SCARY IS THAT??

Ok, so that's the first thing. THEN I remembered that the handyman was coming to do some work on the apartment today... now if you know anything about our landlady you know that when she has finally arranged to get some work done on the place you LET THEM IN. So, we have had some mold issues, and our bath has the slowest hot water pressure you ever saw in your life. He was going to come and fix that previously but decided that it was out of his league and we needed a proper plumber. I respect a person who knows his limitations. I can live with no shower for a while longer... we are only here for 2 more months anyway. So today he was here to fight the mold and fix the water leaks we have in the bathroom and bedroom cupboard. I was asked to remove all of our clothes from the cupboard in preparation for his arrival. THIS is what awaits me.... still, it KINDA feels like packing. I said to P that I don't feel like packing these things away again. I want to leave them out and start washing them so that I can pack... at least things that we never wear and the winter stuff.

Mold killer and paint. That's it. That's all the handyman brought with him. The bathroom floor is rotting out from under us. The walls are warped and bubbled and twisted and the ceiling drips onto the floor and he came with a can of paint -- per the landlady's orders. He and I both agree that this is putting lipstick on a pig, but what can we do, so off he went. He was here a couple of minutes and then announced he was done and left. My bathroom is FILTHY and smells like an old fart and wet paint... and there are these.... little piles of dried mud ALL OVER my flat!! ARGH!!!

P.S. The bathroom ceiling has a bright yellow oval shape appearing where the water leaks... the paint isn't even dry yet and already our crisp white ceiling is ruined... ah well... 2 more months... 2 more months... 2 more months... <-- my new mantra. I've been whining all day that I have to work this weekend finishing up a website project for a client, blablabla.... but... the client just emailed me to say that she will be speaking to loads of OTHER coaches and wanted to know if it would be ok if she referred me... YES!!! Yes, it's ok!! Woohooo!! So, now I feel bad for all my whining.

Jack is still out of sorts... cant make him happy for anything. He wanders around in circles trying to find a cool spot and I feel terrible for him... He LOVEs peeking out the front door spying on passersby so I set him up like this today and he is much happier.
